Maria Garcia-Chinn (she/her) is a program coordinator at Blue Shield of California Foundation. In this position, she is responsible for providing project support and coordination to the program staff.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Maria worked as a community outreach specialist at Mission Neighborhood Health Center (MNHC) in San Francisco, where she increased awareness about benefits available to the low-income population of the Mission district and educated the public on relevant government policies. Prior to her time at MNHC, she worked for Good Paper, a fair-trade greeting card company which employs women coming out of human trafficking in the Philippines, where she managed daily sales operations and customer success.
Born and raised in Venezuela, Maria graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a bachelor's degree in chemistry. She spends her free time checking out new art museum exhibits, singing show tunes, and practicing yoga.
