Betty Chiu

Betty Chiu (she/her) is a senior accounting and operations professional at Blue Shield of California Foundation. In this role, she is responsible for assisting in the preparation of audited financial statements, tax returns, and investment- and grant-related reports. Betty helps with budget tracking throughout the year and assists in budget development. She also supports the grants team with grant procedures and report development.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Betty gained extensive experience in accounting and reporting as part of Blue Shield's corporate accounting team. She prepared quarterly and annual statutory accounting statements submitted to the Department of Insurance. Her other responsibilities were performing evaluations of internal financial reporting systems, asset management, payroll, and GAAP/statutory accounting. 

Betty graduated with a bachelor’s in finance from San Francisco State University. She enjoys hiking, cooking, and spending time with her family.
