Communications Program Manager
Marite Espinoza is communications program manager at Blue Shield of California Foundation. In this position, Marite is responsible for supporting the Public Affairs team and working collaboratively to raise the overall visibility of the Foundation’s mission to end domestic violence and help build lasting solutions that improve health access for all Californians.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Marite worked at UCSF and Stanford as part of multidisciplinary research teams dedicated to better understand the needs of people living with dementia and working to create radical health solutions to prevent childhood obesity. She has always been passionate about helping underserved communities and has volunteered at the San Francisco Suicide Prevention Lifeline as a crisis counselor for their Spanish language support line, “Linea de Apoyo”.
Marite graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and Mexican-American studies from San Jose State University. She spends her free time crafting, hiking and exploring the Bay Area.
