Krysten Massa

Krysten Massa (she/her) is a senior communications associate at Blue Shield of California Foundation. In this role, she works collaboratively with the public affairs team on content creation, digital strategy, and social media campaigns to advance the Foundation's mission to make California the healthiest state and end domestic violence. She is the communications leader in the Foundation's work to strengthen economic security and mobility. In addition, Krysten leads the Foundation’s in-house photography and video production work.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Krysten worked as a content producer for a local media company in New York. She has always had a passion for telling stories and helping uplift the voices of those who need it the most. Highlights from her time in this role include a yearlong investigative documentary project that looked into a cold case of a missing woman on Long Island, producing a monthly web show that showcased local businesses, and receiving awards from the New York Press Association for photography and videography.

Krysten graduated from Stony Brook University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She spends her free time exploring the Bay Area and binging her favorite Netflix shows.
