Blue Shield of California Foundation Announces New Director of Finance, Operations, and Grants

San Francisco, CA (October 22, 2019) – Blue Shield of California Foundation announced today the appointment of Annie Z. Wong, CPA, as the organization’s new director of finance, operations, and grants.  In this role, she will lead day-to-day oversight of administrative and financial operations, including the accounting and grants management functions.

“Annie’s experience and proven management skills make her a great fit for the Foundation. Her knowledge will serve the organization well in this role the coming years,” said Ray Baxter, PhD, president and CEO of Blue Shield of California Foundation.

Wong brings over 14 years of experience in the health care industry and was previously senior manager of technical accounting, reporting, and governance at Blue Shield of California. Wong also served as a senior auditor at Franklin Templeton Investments in San Mateo, and at Deloitte & Touche, LLP, in San Francisco.

Wong will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and will have oversight of the Foundation’s more than $30 million annual budget.

 She holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley.
