Carolina Morales

Carolina Morales (she/her), MSW, is a senior program officer leading the Foundation's programs to end domestic violence. She is a queer Latina immigrant who has dedicated close to 20 years to community wellness and racial justice advocacy through direct service provision, educational initiatives, and systems change with communities of color, immigrants, and formerly incarcerated people. 

Carolina committed a decade of work to Community United Against Violence (CUAV), where she served as co-executive director. CUAV works to address gender-based violence while centering Black and Brown survivors. Under her leadership, the organization implemented an integrated approach to building survivors' wellness and civic engagement, developing programs under a transformative justice framework. As a legislative director at the San Francisco County Board of Supervisors, Carolina designed and passed groundbreaking legislation that included establishing the first ombudsperson’s office for sexual violence survivors in the country and codifying cultural districts as municipally funded, community development tools to address gentrification. As the first violence prevention director at the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office, she continuously engaged stakeholders in BIPOC and immigrant communities and developed alternatives to incarceration for violence survivors.

Carolina has served as an advisor to the Center for Political Education and as treasurer for the San Francisco Democratic Party, where she demonstrated her continued commitment to internationalism and racial and economic justice.

Carolina earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and a Master of Social Welfare from University of California, Berkeley. She also loves acting in theater and film, where she explores the transformative role of art in both personal and collective change.
