With support from Blue Shield of California Foundation and Director Kim Johnson, California's Department of Social Services partnered with Child Care Resource Center, Parent Voices, and the California Partnership to End Domestic Violence to hold 36 listening sessions with survivors of domestic violence, government agency staff, and social service providers. The illuminating conversations led to this report, "Improving Practices, Policies, and Services for Survivors of Domestic Violence." Its recommendations include: streamline access to social services, address the variations in services that survivors encounter from county to county, and help staff deliver those services with more empathy and equity.
