Health plans, providers, and other health system stakeholders are increasingly seeking ways to address a range of upstream factors that influence health outcomes, quality of care, and costs in their communities. One such upstream factor is exposure to violence and the resulting trauma, whether community-level violence, intimate partner violence, domestic violence, or violence in other forms. This brief by JSI Research and Training Institute provides an overview of investments and programs that health care payers and providers could support to address and prevent the impacts of violence.
