Portraits of Domestic Violence: The African American Experience
In this report funded by Blue Shield of California Foundation, Portraits of Domestic Violence: The African American Experience, Jemmott Rollins Group (JRG) presents a vivid qualitative portrayal of 15 women and men and their experiences with domestic violence. Based upon individual interviews with each participant, all of whom self-identified as Black and as a survivor of domestic violence, the report not only tells each story, but it also reflects on the interactions with the support services and resources. It provides and illustration of the ways gender, race and ethnicity impact on the connections to and benefits from such services.
